Batrain is a robot produced by Takatoku Toys at the same time as the Macross and Dorvack toys. It can transform from a realistic looking steam train into a robot with gun that can fire small missiles. As you can see it came in two different colors, the normal version (left) and the "real color" version (right). Batrain was originally part of the series "Galactic Whirlwind J9-III Sasuraiger" were it was called Sasuraiger TV-83X. At the time that this series was aired, Takatoku Toys had only released a non-transformable version. As far as I can tell, the boxes of the transformable Batrain, as well as the catalog (which is part of the Dorvack/Macross catalog) don't mention the title of the series. The explanation for this could be that the series had already ended by the time that this toy was released and Takatoku Toys decided to release it anyway as a stand-alone toy.
