DIACLONE TOY PICTURES

The Great Robot Base

This enormous robot (42 cm tall!) was as far as I know the very first Diaclone. It was loosely based on the Microman Punch Robo. Unfortunately mine is missing the original Diaclone figures and some of the track tires are broken. It transforms into a large mobile base and includes many gimmicks. Each foot contains a small vehicle which launches after pressing on a button. The chest contains a command center, with a rotating platform with two seats on it. Below that it has a missile launcher which it can use in base mode. On it's back it has a working escalator, on which a Diaclone figure can be placed. He can also launch his fists (surprisingly fast!), in which strangely enough a Diaclone figure can be placed. The Great Robot Base, is surprisingly posable. Although his legs are unmovable, his torso can rotate as well as his head. His arms can rotate at his shoulders and elbows both forwards and sideways.

Drill Dasher
robot

The Drill Dasher is a relatively simple but neat little robot. It has like all the Dashers a pull-back engine.

F-1 Dasher

The same thing goes for this Dasher.

And this one.

Fortress Robot X

Fortress Robot X is the second largest Diaclone and stands around 37 cm tall (15 inch). Unlike The Great Robot Base this one contains diecast metal parts, which makes it feel heavier and more solid. Fortress Robot X also transforms into a base. It has a complex elevator system inside, which can transport Diaclone figures in capsules to all parts of the robot. Fortress Robot X is much less posable than The Great Robot Base, as hit can only rotate his arms. Instead of hands it has a launchable space ship on each arm, which gives it a unique look. Each foot also contains tank, which can be launch over a meter easily! The transformation is rather simple, which is opening his chest, covering his face and de- and reattaching his legs.

Twin Combat
combat mode, scout mode, space ship

Twin Combat transforms from one robot form to another. It also has a sort of space ship mode, but that one isn't really convincing. The missile-launchers on his shoulders unfortunately can't fire his missiles, but he can launch his fists.

Baku-Ten Attack Robo Drill Type (red version)
robot, drill

This is the regular version of the Diaclone Twin Twist. I personally prefer the Diaclone colors of the Diaclone versions of the Jumpstarters.

Baku-Ten Attack Robo Drill Type (grey version)
robot, drill

This is the grey variation of the Diaclone version of Twin Twist.

Baku-Ten Attack Robo Jet Type (grey version)
robot, plane

The regular colored variation of the Diaclone Topspin.

Train Robo No. 4 Tôkai-type Express Train
robot, train

The six Train Robos can combine to form one larger robot. Since I only have three of them I don't really get very far. They look really neat and each train came with a piece of track.

Train Robo No. 5 L-Special-Express-485 System Special Express Train
robot

This one came in a No. 4 box so I don't have the right box to show here.

Train Robo No. 6 DE10 Diesel Locomotive
robot, train

This is the most complex one of the three. I really like the designs of these toys. I'm puzzled why Hasbro never released these outside Japan.

Triple Changer Jet/Tank Type
backside, robot, jet, tank

Unfortunately this one has a large degree of discoloration. Hence the brownish color instead of light grey. Still it looks really cool, especially in tank mode, much better than the Transformer version.

Car Robo No. 15 New Countach LP500S
box back, box top, box inside, robot 1, robot 2, car 1, car 2, car 3

Practically identical to the Transformer version except for the labels and that it can actually fire it's missiles.

Car Robo No. 16 Ligier JS11 F-1
robot, car

Practically identical to the Transformer version except for the labels and that it can actually fire it's missiles.

Constructicon Vehicle Robo No. 4 Truck Crane
robot

The Diaclone version of Hook has neat looking colors. It's chest is painted in a metallic blue.

The Diaclone version of Slag has a much better color scheme then its Transformer version. His chest, head and missile launcher are metallic blue, and the horns, sword, gun and missiles are chrome.

Arinder (Warudaros)
box back, toy

Arinder is a insectoid spaceship, which forms the upper torso and arms of Warudaros.

Sasorander (Warudaros)
box back, toy

Sasorander is an insectoid ground vehicle, which becomes the lower torso and legs of Warudaros.

Walk Insecter Type 1 (blue version)

The Walk Insecters consist of a wind-up walker and a biosuit, which can be mounted on the back of the walker.
