This is the Kronoform
Robotic World.
The Originators are protectors
of the universe directed
by Diakron Commanders.
The Terminators are evil robots
attempting to force their rule.
Create your Kronoform
Robotic World with this
space age concept.

The text above was printed on the back of my Kronoform Attakon. Kronoform was the second line of pre-Transformers released by Takara (after Diakron). This line was a combination of Diaclone and Microman along with a whole new line of transforming watches (these were also sold in Japan as a separate line called "Watch-Q", after Takara canceled the Microman line). Below is a list of the toys from this line (that I know of).

Originators

INVECEPTION This is a spaceship that can transform into hundreds of different attack systems. It's main form is a spaceship, but it can also transform into for example a track tired tank (Tank Attacker). It's motorized, powered by two penlight batteries. It's from the same mold as the New Microman Cosmic Attack Fighter and came with a M11 figure.

MULTIFORCE This is the same toy as the Diaclone Gats-Blocker, which was also sold in the US as a Diakron. It's a six inch robot that can split into 14 small ships. It came with two Diaclone figures (the Diakron version with five).

MODULATOR This is a track tired vehicle, that can transform into a command center. Modulator was sold in Japan as part of the Diaclone toyline, were it was called Cosmo Roller.

PROTECTRON This is the Kronoform version of the Diaclone Diatrain, which transformers from a diesel train to a spaceship (also sold earlier in the US as Diakron Diatrain).

TIME MACHINES These were watches like the Microman MC-06 Watch Robo, but there was a large number of new
transforming watches, that weren't part of Microman. Most of them came in various colors. The following
Time Machines were made:

name transformation
SCORPIA scorpion
AUTO KRON I Lamborgini Countach
AUTO KRON II small Penny-Racer like car
X-KALIBOR gun, complete with tripod, scope and trigger
ROBOT TIME MACHINE (Microman MC-06) robot
INVICEPTOR F-15 jet
ROBOT RADIO TIME MACHINE robot, with working radio inside!
HI-BAND BLASTER Hi-fi set, with probably also a working radio
KALTOR robot with working calculator
DECEPTOR robot, jet
AUTOCEPTOR robot, car

After Takara had ended the Microman line they released these watches, along with even more as a separate line called
Watch-Q. In the US Hasbro repackaged the leftovers from Kronoform as Transformers (with "from the Kronoform
collection" written on the package). Either in Canada or in Australia (can't remember) they were again released as part of
the G2 Transformer line.

Terminators

ATTAKON This is the same toy as the Diaclone Dia Attacker. It can Transform into a large spaceship, which can split into several smaller spaceships.

TOGOR Togor is also known as the Diaclone Battle Buffalo. It can split into three vehicles, which can be piloted by Diaclone figures.

WARGON Kronoform version of the Diaclone Warudaros.

Toy pictures

ATTAKON  (robot, robot side, robot close-up, space-ship front, space-ship side)
This toy is one of my favorite pre-Transformers. In certain ways it reminds of the robots from the early seventies, with it's heavy die-cast body and the numerous missile-launchers and detachable ships, and yet it has the typical Takara look, which gives it a perfect combination. It's rather large, about 20 cm (8 inch) and transforms into a neat looking spaceship.
TOGOR  (box inside, robot 1, robot 2, robot 3, robot 4, robot 5, vehicles, vehicle 1, vehicle 2, vehicle 3, vehicle 4, vehicle 5, vehicle 6)
Another neat looking robot which was part of the Diaclone line in Japan, where it was known as Battle Buffalo. The robot splits up into 3 vehicles, 2 spaceships and a sort of lunar vehicle with a pull/back engine.
WARGON  (box inside, robot 1, robot 2, robot 3, robot 4, robot 5, vehicles, vehicle 1, vehicle 2, vehicle 3, vehicle 4, vehicle 5, vehicle 6)
Wargon, or Warudaros as it was called as Diaclone, is one very bizarre looking robot. In the Diaclone line it's the main robot from the insect-like alien race, hence its rather odd appearance. It transforms into three vehicles, all of which have some insect like features. The only difference with the Japanese version is the lack of pilots (the two above do come with two pilots each however).
