Introduction

The mecha from Orguss are the weirdest I've ever seen, from two legged walking mechs to legless
hovering mechs with arms. Super Dimension Century Orguss was Produced by the same makers as the
Macross series. Although the title has some similarities with Super Dimensional Fortress Macross, the story is
completely unrelated. The show aired from 1983 to 1984 and counted 35 episodes. Since I've never seen the
series, I can't tell what the story is about other than what can be found at the Orguss Shrine.

Catalog

This catalog was printed on the back of a Dorvack catalog, which came with a Dorvack Ovelon Gazette

Toys

The toys were made by Takatoku Toys. From the mecha, two different scales of transformable toys were made and also some non-transformable vinyl toys and several model kits. Below I'll give a description of the transformable toys:

Scale 1/40

Orguss - Shown on this picture is the normal version. There is also an Orguss "Olson Special", which is blue-ish, with red
stripes. Orguss transforms in four different modes: Orgroid, Gerwalk, Tank and Flyer.

Nikick - The Nikick was also produced in two different versions. Shown in this picture is the normal version (MBG-24C).
The second version, the Nikick "Mass Production" (MBG-24A), has a more square-ish head, and was more blue-ish
in color. The Nikick can transform in tree different modes: Battleform, Gerwalkform and Flightform.

Scale 1/60

Orguss - The first 1/60 scale toys could only transform in two modes: Orgroid and Tank, and were part diecast and part
plastic. The later releases were all plastic and could transform into all four modes. The later released 1/60 scale
Orguss came as the regular and also as the "Olson Special" version.

Drifand Dee - These toys, as well as the M-Lovers, are extremely fragile. The Drifand Dee is a yellow hovering mech with
two arms that can fold underneath and no legs.

M-Lover Leeia - Like the Drifand Dee, the M-Lovers also have two arms and no legs. There is also a second version of this
toy, the M-lover Maaie, which is red instead of yellow and which carries a different weapon.

Nikick - Like the 1/60 Orguss, the first releases of the Nikick were made of diecast metal and plastic and could only transform
into Battleform and Gerwalkform and the later all plastic releases in all three modes. Of this later version both the
regular and the "mass production" type were produced.

Gerwalk Ishkick - In contrast to the Drifand Dee and the M-Lovers, the Ishkick and the Ishforn had two legs and no arms.
The Ishkick came in two different forms. The normal version is red and carries a hugh cannon on one
"shoulder" and a missle-pod on the other. The second version, the Ishkick Command is blue and carries no
weapons on his "shoulders". It also has several other differences, like the shape of the air-intakes.

Gerwalk Ishforn - The Ishforn is also a two legged mech with no arms. It has a different canopy than the Ishkick and has a
radardish one one side and a cannon on the other.
